“Everything’s Connected”

Acrylic on Canvas, 24” x 24”

This painting explores the intricate web of human existence within urban areas, and explores the connectedness of individuals within our society. The composition of this painting, being a one-point perspective angled upwards to the sky, creates an eerie and perplexing ambiance. This is emphasized by the rhythmic repetition of faceless, autonomous figures cyclicly moving through the continuous, circular streets, embodying the monotony of modern life and represents the shared nature of many of our experiences. This enclosed loop of movement also serves as a metaphor for the cyclical patterns of modern societal routines and how many people become ‘stuck’ along a life path dictated by society. This piece prompts viewers to question their own roles within communal existence, and reflect on the delicate balance between unity and individuality.
